High-Definition is a big point at the coming 6th Internationale Mediafestival. With a 18 x 6,25 meter big screen and a physically solution of 3456 x 1200 pixel, visual effects of a special kind will be presented. Also the motto of the festival changes because of the newes medial HD-developments and gets the addition: "stories in HD". At the 6th International Mediafestival there will be shown, in particular, High-Definition-productions from the categories film and audio-vision.

The company AV Stumpfl supports this forward-looking step and sponsors a new award – the HDAV-Award. Endowes with 1.500 Euro and of course the mediaaward Blue Genius as trophy, this is definitely a attractive price. This special Award will be, like the other awards in the categories amateur, profi and education conferred by the jury.

For the HDAV-Award there are generally the same rating criterias like for the other awards:

• Tell a story - Is the festival motto fulfilled?
• Conception und Dramaturgy - Is the request of the show dramaturgally clear and effectiv?
• Visualisation - Is the graphical material equal to the tenor?
• Audio-arrangement - How felicitous is the audio-arrangement?
• Proportions - Does the length correspond with the content and the request?
• Rhythm - Does the tempo of the pictures allow the spectators to come along without getting boring?
• Technical qualities of the graphical material
• Technical quality of the soundtrack
• Overall impression - Irrespective of possibily individually maximas or entrapment.

Additional, productions which will win the HDAV-Award must be, of course, produced as HDAV-productions multi-display.
On a 18 x 6,25 meter big screen (120 squaremeters projectionscreen) 3 high performance projectors were projected with a whole resolution of 4000 pixel breadth (double HDTV-resolution), the for the competition nominated productions (HDTV, HDAV, computeranimation, video, etc.). The company AV Stumpfl from Austria supplies the needed equipment: a multimedial computer-controlled presentationunit includes 4 networked computers. This computers can demonstrate the digital AV-productions by a 3 field-panorama-projection with 20% softedge-overlap. The professional and inovative software Wings Platinum from AV Stumpfl inherit the calculation and the correct projection of the nominated AV-productions.

The spezial allure of the High-Definition-Audio-Vision is in the integration of multi-plane screenfields. The special charm of High-Definition-Audio-Vision is especially in the integration of multi-pictured fields. A few months ago, it was technically very difficult to produce real panorama-shows. But today it is possible to create dual-display-shows (for example with a aspect-ratio of 2,35:1) with only one computer.

We call on profis, amateurs, as well as on pupils and students to produce their productions in panorama-format (multi-pictured field) with a aspect-ratio of up to 2,88:1 and a whole resolution of 3456 x 1200 pixel.

For producers, which work with Wings Platinum, we allocate two Wings-samples for the maximum aspect-ratio of 2,88:1.
