High Definintion on 18 x 5 meters

The audiovisual presentation on a large-scale screen is on the focus at the 4th International Mediafestival. You, as a mediaproducer, will get the technical conditions for the panorama projection below. You can, of course, as usual hand in your production as a one field production.

The 4th International Mediafestival is under the motto “…tell a story in high definition”. At the beginning of the showblocks, we will present you a HDAV-softedge-panoramaproduction on a aspect ratio of 1:3,5 on a big screen with 5x18 meter.

This audiovisual seeing and hearing enjoyment will be presented with 3 high-performance digital projectors on the 90 qm big screen out of competition. The both AV-Profis and organiser of the Mediafestival, will show you in cooperation with the higher educational school Furtwangen, HDAV-productions with the grade “worthwile and worth seeing”.

The innovation richness on products and functions in the media world is always growing. Devices get always smaller and can do always more. The technic relieves permanently a lot of work form the people and eased the everyday life.
But what happens, if it relieves the thinking of the peolple? When becomes the bless a curse?

Technical conditions

The maximum projection possibility for productions at the 4th International Mediafestival are 3640 x 1050 pixel on a panorama screen of 18 x 5 meters. This is possible because of 3 projectors with 20% Softedge-Overlap. On can hand in every production up to a maximum aspect-ratio of 3,5:1. Thereby it makes no matter if the aspect-ratio is 4:3 / 16:9 / 2,35:1 (Cinemascope) /2,5:1 or any other aspect-ratio.

One can hand in every digital video-format, if necessary with the corresponding codec. A lot of software, codecs and computer capacities don´t accept an output of more than 1920x1080 pixel. Then, the production should hand in as a one-screen sequence with the according resolution. Therefor the single screens, the gemerged soundtrack and the declaration of “pictures per second”are needed.

For producers, which work with Wings Platinum, we allocate a Wings-sample for the maximum aspect-ratio of 3,5:1:
So that Wings can identify your file as master, copy the file to: …\program\wings platinum\templates. After that, restart Wings Platinum, choose file – new – projectmasters and the master “panorama 3,46:1 Mediafestival”. Then you can construct any picutre fields, video sequences, picture sequences etc. If the Output as video file is not possible, export the file in single sequences (output – single sequence) and the soundtrack as WAV-file (output – audio-cd). And hand in your production with the declaration of “pictures per second”.
